Yorkshire and Leeds Cosplayers Unite!

New Deviant Art Group Created For Yorkshire and Leeds Cosplayers

Deviant Art Logo and Text

I have no idea if this is going to work, but life is all about taking chances. I’ve set up a new group on deviantart aimed at Yorkshire or more specifically Leeds cosplayers. I’m hoping it can become a hub for cosplayers, photographers and costume designs to share ideas, pictures and event news. I’ve no doubt a Facebook group will come soon (if one doesn’t already exist) so that we can all easily keep in touch.

Why Did I Do It?

The aim for me is quite simple. I’ve been advertising on the web in various places asking for models and cosplayers to contact me if they’re interested in doing a photoshoot. I have a reasonable selection of costumes due to the fancy dress business stock being at my disposal and figure it would be a great chance to build portfolios. I’m also 100% free. I request no money in exchange for my time as it see it being far more beneficial to gain experience with people who really enjoy what they do.

Many cosplayers that I’ve met are incredibly enthusiastic, they’re passionate and put so much time and effort into their costumes that I think a professional quality picture of them in it is the least that they deserve. I’m not going to pretend to be a seasoned professional (yet!) but I do know enough that I can give you a quality picture that you’d be proud to display on your Facebook wall, deviantart account, blog or wherever else you want to show it off.

OK I’m Sold, Sign Me Up!

Excellent! If you don’t already have a deviant art account (shame on you) you can sign up for one here. Click on ‘Deviant Login’ at the top of the page then click on ‘Join DeviantART for FREE’, then fill in your details and away you go.

Once you have your shiny new account set up or you login to your existing account you can join the group by clicking on the link below:

Join The Yorkshire and Leeds Cosplay DeviantART Group Here

Click on the ‘Join our Group’ button and state in the reason for joining section why you want to join. It could be that you’re a Yorkshire based cosplayer, a photographer, an event organiser, a makeup artist or costume designer. If you want to look at the work produced by our members I would suggest that you click on the ‘Watch’ button on the top right of your screen rather than joining as a member. I’d like to keep the group as a hub for networking rather than appreciators of the work produced if possible. We’ll see how it works out.
