February 2013 Update

The month of February started out in much the same way as January did in the UK, cold with patches of snow. Thankfully the sun’s been out just enough to remind me that there’s hope ahead with warmer weather.

The month of February started out in much the same way as January did in the UK, cold with patches of snow. Thankfully the sun’s been out just enough to remind me that there’s hope ahead with warmer weather.

Last week I got back to article research and writing and hope that you all enjoyed what I put out. I’ll list the articles below so that you can check out what you might have missed. I’ve been in touch with a few new and previously featured cosplayers to get permission from the to publish their work and ask a few questions. By the end of the month I’m hoping to feature more work from Ardella and Riddle before showcasing some new people.

Here’s what I’ve been up to this month.

Moving onto pastures new

Last month I told you all that I’d moved into new premises. I went over to the old place yesterday to give it a clean before handing the keys in as our contract will soon end. I’ve done it plenty of times before with previous properties and it’s usually a tough experience. You build up memories in every place you live and that place was no different.

Despite spending nearly 2 years there it’s been nice to leave and continue to build the fancy dress business elsewhere. The move has given me a new focus and this will hopefully be evident over the next few months.

Coming Up Next

As I mentioned earlier I’m going to publish a few cosplayer articles from new and familiar faces. I’ve also started to research for a few other articles offering advice on a range of cosplay related topics.

I’m a long way behind with my social media activity so my aim is to post more and gain more exposure.

The fancy dress retail website needs an update. I’ll be spending quite a bit of time adding further information to the category and product pages so that customers can make more informed decisions. My checklist includes:

  1. Add measurements to the product pages.
  2. Clean up the images on the site with some photo editing.
  3. Revise the text on the category pages so that they’re more informative.
  4. Look at the possibility of creating a new site theme and design.

I was due to have a photoshoot over the weekend but we had to sadly cancel it. Still, I have more booked in and I’m still hopeful that we’ll get the new costumes on sale soon.

That’s all for February folks. Keep an eye on our Facebook page (link at the top of this page) for updates when I upload the latest articles. I’ll be back next month with an update.
